Historic Townships of Guildford and Midland

Woodbridge House, Guildford

Strolling through Guildford takes you back in time. It is WA’s oldest and most beautifully preserved market town and it still has many hallmarks of its English past. There are antique shops, local potters, art & craft shops, galleries and charming heritage listed homes. The town is full of character and history with beautiful colonial buildings on display. Meadow Street is home to some of the town’s finest buildings, including the original town courthouse (c1866).

Town Hall, Midland

Midland is the commercial centre of the Swan Valley. Originally the centre for WA’s state railway workshops in the early 1900s, Midland has retained many of its historical buildings which provide a unique character. These include the Town Hall, built in 1906 and the workshop buildings. It also has a busting city centre with two modern shopping centres, a thriving farmers market, a variety of restaurants, cafes and takeaway outlets.
